Tonight’s TV Addictions: December 15, 2008
December 15th, 2008
WHAT WE’RE WATCHING:
TERMINATOR: THE SARAH CONNOR CHRONICLES (8PM FOX, “A” in Canada)
Sarah attempts to track down a blogger who’s familiar with the mysterious three-dots. Psssttt… Sarah… were up here… in Toronto Canada…. Seriously, drop by anytime.
THE BIG BANG THEORY (8PM CBS)
After surviving a near fatal real-life car accident and four fictional years on the run from some fairly lethal Cylons, if anyone deserves a laugh, it’s tonight’s special guest star Michael Trucco. [Click here for video preview]
HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER (8:30PM CBS, E! in Canada)
Hey Barney, have you met Ted’s younger sister? Not if Ted can help it.
NEW & NOTABLE:
CHUCK (8PM NBC, CityTV in Canada)
Just in time for my PVR to run out of space recording the season comes CHUCK’s final episode of 2008. Phew.
DRAMA HIGH: THE MAKING OF HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL (9PM ABC)
If Fred Armisen can pull of playing both President-Elect Barack Obama and Governor David Patterson, maybe there is hope that a predominantly white Virginia High School can pull of a production of THE WIZ (a traditionally all black musical adaptation of THE WIZARD OF OZ).

Terminator was good but had a bit of a quiet ending for a mid-season finale. It’s interesting to see the direction of the Riley character.
Another great episode of Chuck. Chuck kept his cover again, but eventually his sister Ellie is going to be put in danger again, and his secret will have to come out.
Heroes remained a model of consistency by once again being a chaotic mess of mixed motivations, flashy action, a halfway cool character supposedly getting apparently killed, and powers & chemicals being used to maximum convenience over any redeemable character development. It’s bad enough to be frustrating but just intriguing enough to keep coming back for more punishment. I felt a sense of relief when the screen went black and the caption denoted the end of Volume 3.
I’m watching Prison Break now. Interesting coincidence to see the two Enterprise security chiefs from Star Trek: TNG both on TV tonight. Michael Dorn (Lt. Worf) played a surprising & very brief role in the last minute of Heroes, and Denise Crosby (Lt. Tasha Yar) is guesting as a Company doctor on Prison Break.
