What is Wrong with this Picture?

While SUPERNATURAL fans will no doubt be pleased to learn that their two favorite [or only!] Winchester Bros. are getting some seriously good publicity throughout Toronto thanks to a slew of new bus shelters promoting the show on Scream TV, this TV Addict couldn’t help but chuckle at the tiny little inaccuracy in the poster’s copy.

If you can spot it, you may in fact be smarter than a fifth grader, or at the very least a Scream TV executive who really should have known better.

It says the “hit WB show” not CW show….. awww how i miss the wb!!!!

I was going to say that the dog was throwing me off a bit, but yeah. Basically what everyone else said… WB = CW.

Pretty obvious mistake. Are they perhaps using an old poster, or they just that dumb?

the WB hasn’t existed for a few years now…though it is a first season pic, but the poster itself is new. so yeah they should’ve fixed that. then again, most people don’t hear “The CW” and go “now that’s quality television” so maybe it was on purpose.

it technically is a WARNER BROS show… produced by Warner Bros at least

Yeah, it doesn’t say THE WB. Warner Bros is a studio that is known by WB, so I don’t really see the problem.

If this is in Toronto would it be on either the old The WB or the current CW? Wouldn’t it be on some Canadian channel? If that is the case (and since I am not Canadian I am not really sure) then the WB in the poster has to be the studio and not the old network.

I agree with Kayla and Aylssa… while certainly leaving the door open to misunderstanding, it technically can’t be considered a mistake. And I imagine that, from what I understand, The CW only reaches an American audience (to my knowledge), whereas Warner Bros has an international television division and also distributes internationally. So, if anything, that’s likely why they chose to identify it as a WB show in Toronto, it’s more meaningful to a more general viewership.

No we get the CW up here too. You can only gget it via Sat or Digital Cable but we get it.

I noticed it too – WB vs CW but if you look at the opening credits of Supernatural, they do use the WB logo, so technically the signage isn’t wrong.

i think that the reasoning that most are saying behind using the name wb is right…it’s a warner brothers production. if you notice the bottom of it, it’s advertising for it’s very own satellite/digital cable channel, scream, which i think is a global/corus entertainment channel. how often do you see nbc use the name abc to describe a show. could that possible be the answer? they want you to watch it on THEIR specialty channel, not on someone elses…but i guess you wouldn’t really kow that unless you were canadian…

Actually yes the CW is an American Network, but if you have digital cable or a dish you can get the CW. However it is the WB studios that makes the show, so it the poster isn’t wrong. It is on a Canadian digital station at the moment in repeats.

I’ll say that the WB is not a mistake… But it took someone to point at this for us to elaborate on who is who in this game

Supernatural has been around since the last year of the WB network.WB changed to CW when UPN merge with them to create CW..But it is owned by the WB so they can still say it is a wb hit.
