Hardly! First, “overexposed” means in the entire campaign period, not just in debate. I know I can find out anything I need to know before the election next month. Second, I only need to know a few big-ticket things about a candidate to know I’m not going to vote for them. Everything else is lies and double-speak and attacks and fluff and words other people put into their mouths. I already know the thing I need to know. I knew months ago–maybe YEARS ago–who I was going to vote for.

If the American people aren’t willing to educate themselves at least a little bit where the most important decision they make every four years is concerned, then they can consider going to bed without television their punishment.

That statement implies that the live debate is the only possible place to get educated, and it’s a very false implication.

And besides, I’d rather just watch the Vice Presidential debates when they get parodied on SNL where I can actually enjoy it more than I would the real thing. The news and internet can fill me in on how the real thing happened anyways.

I watched Supernatural and spent an hour reading about the debates this morning. I don’t figure I missed out on anything.

No politician was gonna keep me from the best Supernatural episode in series history. Seriously, did you see that…?

Frankly, it should be required that the debates are carried on every channel, including cable. If the American people aren’t willing to educate themselves at least a little bit where the most important decision they make every four years is concerned, then they can consider going to bed without television their punishment.
