I gave this show a try. I watched some episodes here and there if it caught my interest or just changed the channel.

This show is awful. They say that this show is supposed to represent how high school is accurately, but honestly it doesn’t. Yes, every teenager talks about sex and has a sexual encounter, but honestly! The writing is horrible and the situations just as bad. I honestly don’t know what they are promoting besides that if you have sex without a condom your eggo is preggo, but it doesn’t make me feel for the kids or for the parents. The acting is horrible, people claim the show is great, but it is only because it has the theme “sex” and “teenager”. If you put those two words together, you get a following like American Pie. The only difference: American Pie was outrageously funny and the acting superb.

So, they tried introducing some wanna-be kid actors in there, but they don’t draw me in. They aren’t some diamond-in-the-rough young adults.

If they were going to introduce sex into practically all the equations, they need to get dirtier in a much more appropriate tone. Boys and girls do openly talk about sex, but not to every detail. And if they want to cover something, why not date rape, drugs, relationship abuse, and teen angst. They definitely failed at teen angst because at that age you feel so miserable not knowing who you are and sometimes the depression can get disturbing in some people. Whenever they decide to actually make me feel sorry for the kids and be able to put myself in their situations and feel for them, then I will give this TV show another try.

I must admit this show is good, but instead of suggesting abstinence their promoting sex!!!! And don’t come at me with “oh i don’t care i’ve already had sex and I’m 15!” I DON’T CARE!!! Some kids haven’t and they shouldn’t be taught that sex is always gonna be amazing!

In highschool, not every single conversation ever had is about sex. There is so much more to highschool then sex. Also, no girl I know would ever talk openly about masturbation like Grace does or anyone else does lol. Come on now. If your gonna have sex at hmmm 13-16 like these girls, well then have your partner wear a condom, jesus its not that hard.

Absolutely love this show.

This is the ONLY show that can express and expose most possibilities of the ugly and the good about sex and relationships amongst high school students and family in America.

While it’s possible for many improvements, the show has been able to continue revealing many compelling aspects about interesting complications of relationships and sex.

It is ridiculous that many people stated that they found it offensive, poor writing, bad acting… yet they can’t get away from the show. Perhaps this proves it’s true that people can make the same mistake over and over again!

This show is so patently absurd in not only its topics discussed every episode, but in its writing and extremely amateur acting. I think I watch this show for the same reason I watch Bill O’Reilly, Sean Hannity, and that other guy that cries all the time from FOXNews…just to see how bad and offensive it can get. The show started out as pro-abstinence and has since turned into a show about parents openly accepting the fact that their children (and even their mentally handicapped children) engage and perform in sexual actions with each other. Everything is completely open. Not only that, but the corny-ness of the show is starting to show it’s true colors. Tonight I watched the newest episode where Jack and Madison break out into a dance groove listening to Eminem in his room after she breaks up with him. Not only that but ALL the parents talk to their kids about them marrying each other. They talk to their kids as if it is a serious thought about 15-17 year olds actually getting married. I understand picking your battles with your teenager, but do the writers of this show think that its helpful to show parents talking to their kids about marrying each other in absolute seriousness? This is horrible. And it only gets worse. Poor Molly Ringwald. And I feel bad for all of these kids on this show since this is their “big break”. They’ll never see work outside of infomercials after this show.

That is if their acting is good enough for infomercials.

Teens tell each other they love them after a week and make dumb mistakes all the time. I have to deal with teenagers all the time and trust me they are very dramatic and in love one minute and cheating on the same person the next. So that is a possiblility however the religous part I think is totally fake (being a christian and dealing with some of the same issues) and the writting is terrible. By the way almost every single teenager i have ever met will not talk to their parents about sex and definitly not tell them they wanna have sex.

Ok but i love this show and even though is is really bad in some ways I Love it!!

I’m addicted to the show. The acting is horrible, the writing is horrible, and it’s completely unbelievable but I just can’t help myself.
By the way I am a Christian and had to deal with the whole sex before marriage issue and it was not easy to solve. I stressed over it for years. Grace drives me nuts before she had sex she was rediculous by pushing her religion on other people. And after…well i just have to say I really hate the way they portray Christian teenagers.

I am recent high school grad from Oklahoma, and from what I have observed of similar situations this would just not happen. Pretty much every single family here is very religious but if you screw up this bad you better hope your 16 and can get a job because your family is gonna give you the boot and love you and your illigetimate child from afar. And I really hope that the parents who let their kids watch this tell them that no teen boy is going to date you if your preggo. Also the dad is most likely not going to give a flip. I know there are exceptions but you’ve got a better chance of being hit by lightning than finding a 16 year old that responsible.

I can’t put my finger on the oddness of this show– the acting or the poor writing? It’s like everyone is reading cue cards with an important lesson to be learned on each card. There never seems to be a NATURAL conversation. It’s forced language, preachy and unnatural. The show is a good idea. They just need to fire all the writers and start over again.
