Marking a first for the Emmys, the Academy of Television and Sciences has just released the Top 10 Finalists in each of this year’s Outstanding Comedy and Drama series categories. Did your favorites make the list? With the glaring exception of BATTLESTAR GALACTICA and HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER, most of this TV Addict’s certainly did [With my picks highlighted in orange].

House and Lost very much deserve to make it to the final five. I’m pleasantly surprised to see Boston Legal on the final 10 list too. It’d be even better to see it make the final five, but I don’t think I’ll get my hopes up that much.

Grey’s made the list? Seriously? I hope the Acadamy puts out a list of 10 for the actors and actresses categories, too.

So sad to not see anything for Big Love, which really had an incredible second season. Ditto for HIMYM, and (I know I’m not the only one) for The New Adventures of Old Christine.

And if The Wire isn’t at least nominated, I will die.

Someone should check with the postal service. Clearly none of the Emmy voters/nominators got their Battlestar Galactica DVDs.
