Why We Watch: J.J. Abrams

January 20th, 2008

Recently, WGA members Charlie Craig and Thania St. John started a web site called WHY WE WRITE, a series of essays by prominent – and not so prominent – TV and Film writers. In response, this TV Addict thought he’d share this video of J.J. Abrams, in a post I’d like to call WHY WE WATCH.

In the most entertaining twenty minutes you’ll experience all day, J.J. Abrams traces his love of the unseen mystery — the heart of ALIAS, LOST, and the just released CLOVERFIELD — back to its own magical beginnings, which may or may not include an early obsession with magic, the love of a supportive grandfather, or his own unopened Mystery Box.

Now, I know what you’re thinking. Could J.J. Abrams be any cooler? Turns out he can. Click here to check out this incredible story courtesy of Aintitcoolnews.
