The TV Addict Rant: Whiney TV Critics

July 15th, 2007

Introducing the first ever TV Addict Rant. In this installment, Daniel (theTVaddict) calls out whiney TV critics who can’t seem to stop complaining about having the best job in the world.

This being the first vodcast, feedback is welcome. Post away with the good, bad and ugly.

Nice, give it to em Daniel!

Nothing positive comes from spewing negativity. It’s one thing to make a point, it’s quite another to start calling people out. In any case, people can relate better to points like this by seeing the attitudes that you are referring to in their own local media, without having to look up one single person. Your points are actually better made when the masses can look to a bigger group to target as opposed to one person.

My 2 cents anyways.

Just a quick note to Gary and everyone else who may think the video was a touch too negative.

The ‘rant’ isn’t meant to be taken too seriously. I just thought I’d have a little fun with my first vodcast.

In all seriousness, I’ve got the utmost respect and admiration for Tim Goodman (he’s a phenomenal TV critic with a brilliantly funny podcast) and many of the TV Critics attending the TCA press tour.

And hopefully I’ll see them all next year when the TCA accepts my first ever application to join.

Mel Says:

LMAO!! You tell ‘em, Daniel!!

jessica Says:

Loved it! How can you become a tv critic?

tralfaz Says:

Fantastic job. Apparently, some people who shall remain nameless (coughgarycough) dont’ understand the concept of tongue-in-cheek.

Tim Wilkins aka College Virgin Says:

Love it. Doing something from your heart, as you do, I can relate to. I don’t understand why someone would look a gift horse in the mouth. =)

La Sorcière Says:

Love what you do. Keep it going, buddy, you’re doing great job. ;)
Hope you get this application next year !
(And yeah, they do have the coolest job in the world… fraktards !)

John Says:

Were you consciously doing an Ausiello impression or was it unintentional?

Brynhildur Says:

uuuu fun fun!

It’s so wierd seeing you talking after just listening to you on the podcast

and I hope Ari will maybe make a guest apperance on the next vocast

AAAAAAAAAAAAAH!

Oh wait, that’s just Daniel.

Carry on. :)

I do have to wonder why these television critics bitch so much about going to upfronts. Some of us would KILL to go to them. :)

concernedcitizen Says:

first comes a webcast then ctv comes a calling…..ah the winds of change. just please don’t get too popular before san diego….i don’t want to get swarmed by fans like last year.

duckyxdale Says:

Seriously, this is so not a horrible rant where you rip someone apart. It could be about 1000% times worse (I hope you have it in you Daniel) and if you need pointers or names, I’ve got a list.

Jennifer Says:

YAY tvaddict! way to stick it to the people who don’t have real jobs and don’t sit in an office all day………however, if the tvaddict does end up making into the upper echelons of fame and fortune, i would humbly ask for a job :.)

gabby Says:

Amen!

I wish I could be so lucky to have the best job on the planet.

David D. Says:

F**K Ya! I totally agree with you! Hi-Five! Screw you San-cron!!! LOST AND SCRUBS RULES!!!! WAHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

DD Says:

Well said ‘Gary Whittaker’…

This site is more about the ‘TV Addict’ getting the best job on the planet than informing
about television.

How great would it be to have watched so much TV, written endlessly about it, and then to have attended so many TV press events and upfront presentations, as to become so jaded that you whine about having to endure yet another one? Somebody, sign me up! Well, maybe not the jaded part, but the rest sounds pretty good.
