Rosie to Exit THE VIEW

April 25th, 2007

TMZ is reporting that Rosie O’Donnell will announce that she’s leaving THE VIEW on this morning’s episode. While this no doubt comes as bad news for ABC execs — who’ve seen the show’s rating surge 20% thanks in no part to Rosie’s opinionated views — it’s even worse news for fans of the show. Love her or loathe her, you can’t deny the fact that Rosie transformed the one-hour borefest into the season’s most buzzed about [and TiVo-worthy] talk show.

Update: It’s Official. Rosie’s done [come June] and so is my season’s pass for THE VIEW. Watch her farewell announcement above.

Yup. She just made it official! And Barbara made it clear that she wasn’t involved in this decision. Man, this show is going to take SUCH a ratings hit! Here’s the question: Who do you put in her place? Who else can keep life pumped into this show?

And you KNOW Bill O’Reilly is going to claim that he’s responsible for this. You read it here first.

Beth Says:

Yeah! Great news! You knew it would happen sooner or later. :)

Exceptional news!!! I hope she doesn’t return to television and spends time with her family!

Josh Says:

Awful news. I had begun watching The View when I got the chance to see Rosie, but I won’t be doing that anymore.

Fox News is, of course, trying to spin the story and is acting as if she were fired by ABC. And Donald Trump is also trying to take credit for her leaving. Idiot.

Pat Says:

I hated to hear it. Rosie, whether you agree with her or not, was not afraid to speak what was on her mind. I thought she brought a breath of fresh air to the View and I also think she is one of the few voices that speak out and explain what an abhorrent mess this administration has made of our country.
