Exclusive Scoop: The GILMORE GIRLS Series Finale!

March 31st, 2007

Having just returned from the set of SUPERNATURAL, this TV addict was in no mood to going through the massive pile of mail that accumulated while I was away. Luckily, one oddly thick package caught my attention…

Yes my friends, your eyes don’t deceive you. In this TV addict’s possession is the season (possibly series) finale script of the GILMORE GIRLS! Dying to discover what happens to our favourite gals from Stars Hollow? Highlight the inviso-text below to find out. Needless to say, spoiler-phobes beware.

With Rory preparing to graduate from Yale and move to New York for grad school, Lorelai finds herself at a crossroads. Not willing to be left alone in Stars Hollow, Lorelai must finally choose between marrying Luke or returning to Christopher. Of course like everything in Stars Hollow, nothing is as easy as it seems. Marrying Luke means moving to New Mexico to be with April. While committing to Christopher means shutting Luke out of her life forever.

The episode reaches a climax at Rory’s graduation, as the entire town shows up for the big event. As Rory receives her diploma from special guest star Christiane Amanpour, Lorelai looks over at Chris who’s beaming with pride. She realizes that Christopher is indeed her soul mate, and that family is more important than anything else. Lorelai decides to sell her portion of the Dragonfly Inn to Sookie and Michel and move to Paris with Christopher and Gigi. Luke, unable to bare losing Lorelai again, decides to sell the diner to Kirk and moves to New Mexico to be closer to April. Melissa McCarthy, Yanic Truesdale, Liza Weil and Sean Gunn also star.  Stephen Clancy directed the episode written by Rebecca Rand Kirshner (#2T7768).

theTVaddict Hunts Down the Winchester Brothers on the set of SUPERNATURAL

March 30th, 2007

supernatural set visit

Spooky motel rooms, one really large graveyard and the kind of billowing smoke that one would expect a yellow-eyed demon to emerge from. Is it any wonder I can’t sleep?

It’s 5:30am in beautiful downtown Vancouver British Columbia and I’m wide awake after having spent the entire day on the set of The CW’s SUPERNATURAL. Perhaps not surprisingly, the place is a little weird, a whole lot creepy… and did I mention the graveyard?

Truth be told, the SUPERNATURAL set was everything a hunter (or obsessed fan of the series) could hope for… and more. Like any intrepid explorer, I approached each new turn with a mixture of excitement and dred, camera in hand so as to capture every moment. Each prop was scrutinized, the mountain of fan mail (each of which is read, and hundreds of which are mounted on a huge wall) catalogued. And I figured that while I was there, I might as well capture an image or two of those two demon-hunting guys everyone seems to love.

Krysten Ritter Talks ‘Til Death, Gilmore Girls and Veronica Mars

March 29th, 2007

krysten ritter interview

Jenny recently had the opportunity to ask Krysten Ritter some pressing questions! Find out if she’ll be back on 2 fan favorites as Gia from Veronica Mars and Lucy from Gilmore Girls, when she’ll be on ‘Til Death as Allison, the snarky, dark college daughter of Eddie and Joy, and what she has planned for the future!

————-

Jenny: What are you currently working on?

Krysten Ritter: I just shot the season finale of ‘Til Death and today I started on a pilot called The Rich Inner Life of Penelope Cloud for CBS, starring Marisa Tomei. The writer (Jeff Greenstein) is someone I met 2 years ago (on another pilot that was not picked up) so I am thrilled to be working with him.

Jenny: A lot of our readers will know you as Gia Goodman from Veronica Mars last season. How was working with that cast?

Krysten: Lovely. This was my first major recurring role on a series – so my first time really experiencing an on-going, long lasting job where you really get to know everyone and form a little family etc. I really enjoyed Ryan and Kristen (who I worked with the most) and made great friends. This was a fabulous set environment and I couldn’t have asked for a better first TV experience, I miss it. I tried to absorb as much information as I possibly could. I found myself really paying attention to everything that was going on – even behind the camera. The way things were shot, lit, and all of that. The knowledge I gathered while filming Veronica Mars definitely informed other projects of mine that I’ve been producing and playing around with.

Only Three Episodes Remain, So Don’t Forget…

March 28th, 2007

Tonight on FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS, Coach Taylor feels the players are losing their grasp on the beauty of the game as envelopes of cash show up in players’ lockers. Envelopes of cash… I really should have tried out for my high school football team. The best new drama of the season (with BROTHERS & SISTERS a close second) airs tonight on NBC at 8PM.

To discover the secrets of television’s most successful (and realistic) marriage, head on over to TVGuide.com to read a new interview with FNL stars Coach Taylor (Kyle Chandler) and Connie Britton (Tami Taylor).

Live Blogging LOST (Episode 14, Season 3)

March 28th, 2007

As FRANK suggested in the comments (great line by the way), I was not kidnapped by THE OTHERS. GoDaddy decided to stop hosting the site for an hour and half. Needless to say, they suck and will be hearing an earful from an angry TV addict tomorrow. Thanks to everyone who took part in the lamest live blog ever (considering I was only blogging for 8 minutes). I apologize, and promise to make it up to you next week. That said, here are my thoughts on tonight’s bizarre yet brilliant. Please post away with yours.

In their recent official LOST podcast, showrunners Damon Lindeloff and Carlton Cuse pleaded for patience from their frustrated fan-base. Promising that the seemingly useless Nikki and Paulo had a purpose on the island, and their March 28 flashback episode would explain everything. In fact they went as far to say that after tonight’s episode, Nikki and Paulo would become iconic characters in the LOST canon. Having just finished watching tonight’s episode, I’m inclined to agree with Lindeloff and Cuse. Nikki and Paulo won’t soon be forgotten, but not in a positive way. Nikki and Paulo will forever be known as the most useless castaways in the history of television.

Was this some kind of sick joke perpetrated by the LOST writing staff? Did they ever have a plan for Nikki and Paulo or were they always going to be characters on the periphery? Was Nikki’s line three minutes into the episode a mea-culpa on behalf of the writers, “I’m just a guest-star… and we all know what happens to guest stars.” Seriously folks, what am I not getting here?

Acceptable TV Opens Huge for VH1

March 28th, 2007

Jack Black’s ACCEPTABLE TV was a huge hit last Friday when it debuted on VH1. Hmmm… could there be a correlation between ACCEPTABLE TV’s success and the shameless ads they took out on theTVaddict.com? I wonder…

That said, check out a preview for one of this weeks mini-tv-shows (see clip above). Cirque Du Soleil meets CSI, pretty damn funny. ACCEPTABLE TV airs Friday at 10PM on VH1. To vote for what’s acceptable, head on over to acceptable.tv

theTVaddict Goes SUPERNATURAL

March 28th, 2007

The set of SUPERNATURAL is about to get a little hotter.

Now I know what you’re thinking — Jared Padalecki, Jensen Ackles, can the set really get any better looking? Well get ready to have your mind blown (and not in that spooky ghost-like SUPERNATURAL way).

theTVaddict himself will be visiting the set of SUPERNATURAL this Thursday in an effort to collect intel on May’s second season finale entitled “All Hell Breaks Loose” (Part II). I (along with Ducky and Rae) will be snooping around the set, talking to the cast/creative team members and hopefully running into Papa Winchester (Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Denny on GREY’S ANATOMY) who’s rumoured to be popping up in the finale.

So if you’ve got any questions (or you know, marriage proposals) for Jared Padalecki, Jensen Ackles and/or creator Eric Kripke, please post in the comments below.

Also, I’m looking for a recommendation on what are the best episodes from the second season, as I’d like to download a few from iTunes to watch on the long plane ride from Toronto to Vancouver.
