And the Post-Super Bowl Award Goes To…

December 4th, 2006

There are only two reasons to watch the Super Bowl — commercials during the telecast and the television program following the big game. Now thanks to CBS, it looks like the commercials will be the only highlight of the night for this TV Addict.

This morning, CBS announced that its generic procedural drama CRIMINAL MINDS has been awarded the much coveted post-Super Bowl time-slot. While I have nothing against CSI, sorry CRIMINAL MINDS, it definitely is not worthy of the post-Super Bowl timeslot. Such a coveted time period in the past has gone to truly special shows — ALIAS, GREY’S ANATOMY and THE SIMPSONS to name a few. CRIMINAL MINDS, while no doubt entertaining to fans of the procedural drama, is not in the same league as the previous mentioned shows.

It is this TV Addict’s opinion that HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER deserved the big post-Super Bowl promotional push. Not only is the series the funniest comedy on TV, Robin Sparkles would have been a huge hit during the half time show. Wardrobe malfunction anyone?

Matthew Fox Mocks LOST on SNL

December 4th, 2006

The funniest sketch from this weekend’s SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE, hosted by Matthew Fox (How exactly did he get off that island?), features Fox and the cast gently poking fun at the fact we have absolutely no idea what’s happening on that island.

Tonight’s STUDIO 60: Best Episode Yet

December 4th, 2006

I don’t ask much of my readers, but today I’d like to take a moment to highlight tonight’s episode of STUDIO 60 ON THE SUNSET STRIP — and plead you to watch. The Christmas themed episode features an attempt by Matt to bring the spirit of Christmas to Los Angeles and Danny trying to comprehend his true feelings for Jordan. The episode is classic Sorkin and is on par with the best of THE WEST WING and SPORTS NIGHT.

You’ll laugh at the hilarious ‘To Catch A Predator’ sketch featuring Santa. You’ll love Danny dealing with his feelings for Jordan. And unless your heart is made of stone you’ll most definitely tear up during the show’s final moments.

This TV Addict give the episode FIVE STARS (out of FIVE) and makes it his MUST WATCH hour of TV tonight.
