Quite a few readers have emailed theTVaddict today asking about the fate of THE OC. Apparently there is a rumour floating around the net that THE OC has been cancelled. I just got off the phone with a contact at FOX and can officially tell you that THE OC has not been cancelled. So please, stop worrying, THE OC is here to stay (at least for the time being!). If anything changes, you my dear readers will be the first to know.

What do you want to bet that a few weeks into 2007, you get another call… this one confirming that The OC has been cancelled. (Although chances are that first, they’ll move it to a different night and time… but I think it might be time to stick a fork in the gang from whereverthehell they’re from…)

I will say that FOX’s response was an immediate ‘The OC has not been cancelled’ It was almost as if the denial was too quick, suspiciously so. Of course at this point, all we can do is take FOX at their word and hope that we are being told the truth. I definitely think that this season will be THE OC’s last, but up against GREY’S, CSI and now SCRUBS and 30 ROCK – can you really blame THE OC for abysmal ratings?

Do you watch The OC? And if so, what are you going to do on Thursdays? I feel that to my left there is the rock (let’s call is 30 rock, shall we?) and on the my right there is this hard place. Ugh, If only I could record 3 shows at a time.

Here’s what I do. With my cable company (ROGERS digital in Toront), I have timeshifting.
So I can PVR two shows at once, and then timeshift and midnight (the west coast feed) to PVR the show I missed.
I have to say, I think at this point, I’m most excited for Scrubs/30 Rock, I’ll PVR Grey’s watch it at 10PM (without commercials, always better). Then PVR THE OC at midnight and watch it on the weekend.

The denial was too quick? What if they waited a day to deny? I am sure that would be even more suspicious.
What could thay say (or how could they say it), other than they had picked it up for season five, that would be an acceptable answer?

This is a chain of hearsay… but still… my mom’s co-worker is the cousin of one of the major cast members (I’ll refrain from saying who just out of consideration). She told my mom that it was cancelled due to frustration between producers and cast members. I figure she has the inside scoop, but maybe she understood things wrong.

I just read it was cancelled that is so gay. Why it was just getting good again. It was on the news so its obviously not a romour anymore.

The oc doens’t suck and I really care!! if you don’t like the show then don’t post anything!! and its not like its bothering you anyway! you don’t have to watch it if you don’t! so just don’t say anything!! thankyou!!

It was officially announced today that the final show of the series will air Feb. 22 2007 thus ending with an early series ..Still no official word if the CW will be picking this up yet or not..never a good idea to change a good time slot and kill of one of the main characters…sad very very sad!

I truthfully think that if you don’t like THE OC you have no place on this website. Also, i live by this show, it’s like a religion. And if it gets canceled I will be completely mortified and I will stop with Fox all together.

Okay.. the oc IS cancelled. it’s on yahoo news and also, on the tvguide news show. Not a rumor. Even though it sucks that they’re cancelling it, its true. Its over on Feb. 22nd

Do you have that number to fox? I want to ask them for my slef? Is the oc really going to end? who do you know? in that message from yahoo.com, they said that Misha barton dewcited to leave, that’s not true! She got cut off! Also you said that you called, and they said that it has not been cancled! What’s the truth? I really don’t want it to end! The OC is actually good with out Misha Barton, but I do miss her. Do you have that number?

I didn’t even like misha the whole time… I think it was better after she died (no offens) but she was so depresing… They did an awsome jobb picking the story up and making it way much better.
Sure I dicided first never to watch the OC again after they killed off Misha, but after a friend got me to see it and bevause of my curiosoty I fell in love with the show a way a never had before..
For FOX to cancel The OC is career suicide and I hope they really feel it!
