I used to watch Passions avidly. I've been watching it off and on this summer. I stopped when it went from suck-it's so bad it's good to terrible-it's so bad, really really bad. I do get what you mean though to which I have to say it's a mixture of the old 'times we live in' to Hollywood's obsession with making EVERYTHING as hip and young as it possibly can.
