According to Michael Ausiello’s Ausiello Report Straight from the horse’s mouth, Rob Thomas just e-mailed me to confirm that Veronica Mars has been renewed for a third season. The show got a 22-episode order that, depending on ratings, can be reduced to 13. Very reliable sources, meanwhile, are also telling me that One Tree Hill will be back and that Everwood is, in fact, dead. Talk about injustice.

Everwood’s death is an affront to all lovers of great television.
The mere fact that 7th freaking God-awful Heaven got brought back after it’s SERIES finale is just disgusting.
I don’t take renewal for granted anymore after ANGEL was so ridiculously cancelled after ratings improved and they bent over backwards to accommodate The WB’s demands.
But it is unfathomable to me that Everwood dies while the craptastic teenage knockoff OTH lives. I really want to vomit over that.

OTH and 7th Heaven of all shows are on the schedule but not Everwood? The CW is off to a craptastic start, despite VM on the schedule!!!

So stoked and relieved that Veronica Mars is renewed! I can’t believe that they’re resuscitating 7th Heaven though, bad move by the CW. Sad for the Everwood fans, I never really took to it myself, but it seemed to have a loyal following and it sucks to lose a good show!

This is the most effing ridiculous news to come out of these network upfronts. Did someone accidentally type in “7th Heaven” into the schedule when they were meant to put “Everwood”?

The news of Everwood’s demise is bittersweet because I’m thrilled to death that in a way, it helped Veronica….but Everwood is really one of the greatest shows on TV and it is so sad that people haven’t responded to it in a way that the powers that be really want them to! The cast, the writers, all of them, deserve so much better than this!
